So...we didn't do a fantastic job of taking photos on our honeymoon. We were very busy enjoying all of the amazing moments we got to share. However, we did manage to snag a couple, and we've posted some of those below. But for those who are curious, here was our route:
- We started out spending the first night in Cody, WY. Originally we had rented the place for our wedding party to stay the night before the ceremony but...we got weathered out and the AirBnB owner was kind enough to let us delay our schedule by a day. We got there late but it was lovely.
- The next day we made it up to Red Lodge. We just acted like tourists and enjoyed the privacy and hot tub of our accommodations there.
- After Red Lodge we traveled over to Bozeman where we stayed a while with my fabulous CEO at his gorgeous place up there. We got to do some hiking and sightseeing, and even got to participate in judging a whiskey tasting competition he was putting on.
- We had a layover in Missoula, and on our way north we ended up stopping by a church as a last minute decision and found one of Ann's acquaintances from TN! So we hung out, went for a hike, etc...
- And then we hit the high point of our trip: Whitefish and Glacier National Park. This place was awesome and has a decent number of the photos below. We rented e-bikes to travel up the Going to the Sun road (which was partially open to bikes but not cars). We stayed at the Lodge at Whitefish Lake and enjoyed complimentary smores, free canoe rentals, complimentary sparking wine, indoor and outdoor hot tubs/swimming pools, a nature trail just outside our door, and a host of other amazing opportunities.
- Then we went back down and spent a few days exploring Yellowstone (yes we got out before all the crazy flooding). I think our favorite part was watching Top Gun 2 in the IMAX...very cool.
- Lastly, just before we actually made it home we went up Sinks again and finished our honeymoon back where it began...
(Then just a couple hours after we got back we went to Allen & Lisa's beautiful wedding. What a wonderful way to start our new life together.)
Lake McDonald. Believe it or not this was taking in a moving bus.
Working our way up the Going to the Sun road and loving every minute on those fantastic e-bikes (seriously, they are awesome).
Still headed up the Going to the Sun road. A ranger was kind enough to suggest a photo opportunity and take our picture.
Same spot as above, just out of the tunnel. Also we saw a mountain goat on top of those rocks.
We went for a little hike when we got as far up the road as it was open.
It was wet coming down, and I must have been a little loopy from the exercise or the cold because I'm pretty sure my face doesn't normally do that...
